Call to Action - Resist the G-20!

September 22-25, Pittsburgh, PA

Leaders of 20 of the most powerful governments in the world, representing 19 countries and the European Union, are descending upon Pittsburgh in late September. We, concerned residents of Pittsburgh, are asking for individuals and organizations that are seeking a better world to come and show their opposition to these undemocratic, closed meetings. Our future belongs to us, not to our governments!

We are asking you to join us from September 22 through September 25. We are calling for a diversity of actions throughout the week, and we hope that you can join us for some or all of these actions, as you are able.

Say "No" to the G-20…and "Yes" to Community Gatherings!

This September, the political elites will be gathering in Pittsburgh to push policies that harm workers, human rights, the environment and our local quality of life. On Tuesday, September 22, Pittsburghers who are opposed to global destruction will be gathering in Friendship Park (from 5:00pm to 7:00pm) to share food, music and conversation. This is not a protest; this is a chance to directly tell our story of the world for which we’re fighting.

Organizers will provide some tasty food, but bring something delicious to share if you can! Local singer/songwriters will be on-hand with tunes and feel free to bring your own acoustic or percussive instruments if you feel musically inclined.

Sept. 25: Localize and Broaden the Fight Against the G-20

TGIF. The global is local, the local is global and our resistance is everywhere.
Friday, September 25th. Simultaneous actions in different areas of Pittsburgh, all ending at 11:30 am

By this point, the G-20 summit circus will be in its final hours in Pittsburgh. Earlier in the week, we focused our energy on the summit more directly and now, we will turn towards the institutions where the G-20's worldview manifests. The places that symbolize the kind of world the G-20 works to protect and sustain. Institutions that pepper the landscape of our city, just like most other cities.

A Call to Action for Street Medics, Clinicians, and Herbalists

A newly formed faction of the Seeds of Peace Collective, named Eastern
Seeds of Peace, is committed to organizing medical infrastructure in
support of the expected large-scale actions against the International
Pittsburgh Coal Conference and G20 Summit in Pittsburgh in late
September. This is a call to action for street medics, clinicians,
herbalists, and all those interested in contributing to the medical
support that is crucial to the success of the planned marches and
demonstrations.

Call for Student Occupation/Disruption

kids resist

For we are the ones of the future, we are the youth, and we are the ones who you claim to "think" about.

Well, let us communicate to you directly:

Dear Adults,

We are sick of getting killed by your bullets. We are tired of reading your books. We are bored with your history, and we are over your rules.

Anarchist People of Color World Wide (Affiliated & Unaffiliated) Counter-Hegemonic Clarion Call for the G-20 Protest

We see RACE. It fucking matters. If we do not destroy it, it will destroy us. We're at WAR!!!

It is an undeniable fact that Africans, Asians, and Latinos bare the brunt of historical and present day genocide in various forms. The brutal rape and land theft Amerikka was founded on leaves us with one choice: a mutifaceted war of liberation.

In the face of abject destitution and wholesale ethnic and cultural butchering, unequivocal and non-negotiable must be the battle cry for all shades of people of color. The reality is (in occupied Turtle Island/the united snakes and most elsewhere), Arab, African, indigenous and all other non-european people are suffering genocide and warfare on a global scale.

Rad Queers Against the G-20‏

This September, the G-20 global elites will be coming to Pittsburgh to meet about furthering their agendas that put world domination and corporate greed above the rights and desires of people. Radical queers in Pittsburgh will be meeting up too, but we’ve got different desires. As Radical Transfolk, Queers and Allies, we reject capitalism, imperialism and all forms of state power. Basically, everything the G-20 stands for. We fight for liberation. Nothing more, nothing less.

Radical Students Against the G20

Why Do Twenty Voices Matter More than 6.7 Billion?

The economic disaster of the recent days needs no introduction: mass unemployment, skyrocketing inflation, and non-existent credit markets plague the developed world, while in the global south, the rising cost of food and fuel have led to hunger riots and increased poverty and destitution. According to the United Nations, the number of people currently living on the brink of starvation is nearly 1 billion, the large majority of the hungry being women and children.

On the Inside

The Pgh G20 Summit website has a volunteer sign-up sheet:
https://www.pittsburghg20.org/Volunteer.aspx

If you want to make an impact you have to reach people AT the summit right? You want to make some serious news and get your message out why not volunteer to do something like work as a translator?

Get on the inside, get out your message, and disrupt this event.

Call For Housing

This September thousands of anti-authoritarians will be coming to Pittsburgh to show their opposition to the G-20 meetings taking place this September 24-25. That means, among other things, that a lot of people will need places to stay! We're looking for folks friendly to protesters and supportive of anti-G-20 organizing who can offer some sleeping space to people coming to town for G-20 actions.
